Summary

The article includes presentation of basic terms and principles of hippotherapy (definitions, forms, multidimentional influence, indications and contraindications, safety measures, horse selection) worked out by the Polish Hippotherapy Society. Models for hippotherapy and ways of financing of hippotherapy centers in relation to their scope of activities and constitution are described. Presented are standards of hippotherapy center organization and functioning. The authors point out the main problems of hippotherapy in Poland.
