Summary

The results of rehabilitation of children with cerebral palsy (CP) are not satisfactory. The optimizing of this process is still looked forward. The role of early, generally accessible rehabilitation is significant, as well as rationale of individual treatment adopted to individual needs of every child. Basics care problems relate to diagnostic aspects and are connected with the individual and group therapy. Inspite of numerous evaluation methods, the complete quantitative methods are still missing. The methods should enable evaluation of objective results and give precise indications for further rehabilitation. Other problems are related to interdependant clinical and therapeutical factors. The child with CP acquires movement skills by damaged brain. It leads to the development of improper movement patterns and pathological motor activity. Therefore it is necessary to control compensation in order to create patterns as similar as possible to normal ones and make sensor experssions helpful for the specific sensomotor integration,so that the child should be prepared for social functions in future life. All these require a rational approach of an experienced therapist and comprehensive approach to all problems of a child with CP.
