Summary
The commonly occurred soft tissues laesions within the foot (Achilles tendon, Lisfranc joint, I and V MP joint and phalangeal dislocation of thumb) were described in this paper. The anatomy and functions of injured structures are described, as well as procedures necessary for diagnosis and selection of treatment methods. The indications for conservative or operation treatment are given and controversies related to the choice of appropriate methods are pointed out. On the base of own experiences and world literature the methods of treatment and rehabilitation are discussed, emphasizing on coordination of medical treatment and physiotherapy. The objectives of rehabilitation are also presented. Rehabilitation is described in details, including physical therapy, exercise and gait training, at the beginning and during consecutive phases of the process. Special orthopedic devices are also described. The pathology and treatment methods are illustrated on rtg and usg pictures.
